Last updated: 7 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how AJF Projects collects and uses personal information when you visit www.ajfprojects.com or get in touch with us. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to answer your enquiries, run our business and keep this website working.

Who we are

AJF Projects designs, manufactures and installs bespoke handling equipment for the pallet and material handling industries. We are based in Norwich, NR4 6XF, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, AJF Projects is the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy.

You can contact us about this policy or your information at:

What information we collect

Information you give us. If you email or phone us, we will receive your name, contact details, the company you work for, and anything you tell us about your enquiry or project (for example drawings, site details or equipment requirements).

Information collected when you use the website. Like most websites, our web server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to deliver the website and to protect it from attacks and misuse.

Analytics. If you agree to statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. This information is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. Google Analytics does not run unless you give consent through our cookie banner.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiries and provide quotes.
  • To design, supply, install and support equipment you order from us, and to deal with invoicing and payments.
  • To keep business records we are required to keep, such as accounting records.
  • To keep this website secure and working properly.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it (only with your consent).

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Our legal reasons for using your information

  • Contract: where we need your information to give you a quote or to carry out work you have asked us to do.
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to business enquiries, run our business and keep the website secure. We only rely on this where it does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep records, for example for tax purposes.
  • Consent: for analytics cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see “Cookies” below).

Who we share your information with

We only share personal information with trusted service providers who help us run our business and this website, and only as much as they need:

  • our website hosting and maintenance providers;
  • Google (Google Analytics), if you have accepted statistics cookies;
  • our email provider, accountants and professional advisers;
  • delivery, transport or installation partners, where needed to complete your order.

We may also share information if the law requires us to, or to protect our rights.

Some of these providers, such as Google, may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.

How long we keep your information

  • General enquiries that do not lead to any work: up to 2 years.
  • Customer and project records, including invoices: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required for accounting purposes.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months.
  • Website security logs: usually no more than a few months.

How we protect your information

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use security software to protect it. Access to personal information is limited to people who need it. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to limit how we use your information;
  • object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests;
  • ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Essential cookies are needed for the website to work. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) are only used if you agree to them. You can find full details in our Cookie Policy, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time below.

Other websites

Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
